Budapest GayguideHere we tried to collect you all the gay places at Budapest. There is 2 million people living at Budapest, but there are not so many gay events and clubs, all the gay scene is in this site below.If you want to join the crowd at weekends, the general rules are these: - People go out after 11 pm. Before the bars are not crowded at all. - Fridays people, who like the cruising bars, go to Action bar, because of the strip and fuck live show. If you like to dance go to Alterego club. - Saturdays people, who like the cruising bars, go to Coxx bar. If you like to dance go to Pure or Candy party or if you want to stay in the city center, go to Alterego club. - Sundays afternoon/evening go to Sauna 69. This is just a very rough recommendation, check all the other possibilities below this page. You will find more interesting gay places. Entrance about 2.000-2.500 HUF. Face control. Tipical mainstream gay party, so you can forget your shirt at home. Nice younger crowd. People go to have party usually after 11 pm.Their site does not work at the moment. Pure PartySimilar party like the Candy, but a bit more popular. It is in the "Hajógyári sziget" at Dokk Cafe. Pure party has not been organized for more than one year, so I think it is closed down.Pure Party Brutkó Diszkó - Brutko DiscoUnderground side of the Budapest gay scene. Music on Brutkó Diszkó - Brutko Disco is around electroclash, dnb. Rarely organized party in different places, mostly at Trafo Bar, but check their site for the actual party. Entrance 1.000 HUF ~ 4 EUR. People go to have party usually after 11 pm.Brutkó Diszkó Liberty PartyBrand new party in Budapest gay scene. It is in the Buda side at Privé Club, Tölgyfa u. 1-3. They will organize this party the first Saturday of every month. Entrance about 2.000 HUF. Face control. People go to have party usually after 11 pm.Liberty Party AlterEGO bar & loungeAddress: 6th ditrict, Dessewffy u. 33. (at the corner of Dessewffy str. and Nagymező str.) Open: 22-05.Entrance is 1.500 HUF. Face control. Mixed crowd, lot of girls. Start to be crowded after 11 pm. Trendi rococo design with some plush. Trendi young people dance in their shiny T-shirts all night long. At midnight there is a forgettable drag queen show. Popular club on Fridays and Saturdays, recommended if you like to dance. But you have to wait for long in a queue at the entrance if you still want to get in. AlterEgo Club Club UndergroundAddress: 6th ditrict, Teréz krt. 30. (next to the Művész - Art Cinema) Open at Friday and Saturday: 22-05.Drag queen show at 00:30. Karaoke after the show. Underground is a tricky name becuse the club is under the ground in a cellar, but the music is mainstream, nothing to do with the underground scene. If you like underground music go to Brutkó Diszkó party. No entrance, but there is a compulsory consumption for 2.000 HUF ~ 8 EUR. Similar to AlterEgo club and Glam, also very close to these bars. If you do not like the AlterEgo and Glam, just walk a few meters and try Club Underground. Club Underground Capella CafeAddress: 5th district, Belgrad rkp. 23. Open: 22-05.Go there after 11 pm. There is drag queen show every day, not only at the weekends. The show is professional, nice transvestites. So if you are bored during the week, Capella is a good choice. There are two dancing rooms. It is very mixed, lot of straight people. Capella Café Stone Dell'arte cafeAddress: 13th ditrict, Kádár u. 8., open: Tue-Thu, and Sun: 14-02, Fri-Sat: 21-05.This is a new gay club at Budapest. This is another transvestite club in the queue. Drag queen show at 23:30 and 01:00 if there is a demand. I suppose mainstream dance and house music, sometimes oldies, but I have not checked yet. Entrance, is 1.500 HUF ~ 6 EUR only on Fri and Sat, other days are free. Stone Dell'arte Glam ClubNow the Glam Club is closed down (previously it was the Revans Club).Bohemian AlibiDoes not exist any more. RIPRevans ClubDoes not exist any more. The Glam club is opened on the same place.Spartacus ClubSpartacus parties are not organized any more. It was in Ráday u. 34. (Spill cocktail bar)Gay Cruising Bars & Sex Clubs at BudapestAction BarAddress: 5th district, Magyar u. 42. Bar-video room, darkroom, open: every day 21-04.Design is similar to Eagle Bar in Vienna or Tom's Bar in Berlin. The crowd is a bit older. There is no entrance fee, but there is a compulsory consumption for 1.000 HUF. They give you a card and write what you drink on it, you have to pay when you leave. In case of lost your card, you have to pay 16.000 HUF. On Fridays there is an extra 800 HUF entrance fee for the strip and sex show. The busiest day is Friday, because there is a strip show and real fucking live show with the real cum at the end while huge pack of horny crowd is worshiping the performance. There are some really good performers, but not all of them. Performers mingle with the crowd and try to make them happy after the show. On Saturday there is a strip show only, and less crowded. Action Bar CoXx ClubAddress: 7th district, Dohany u. 38. Open: 22-05.It is a nice 400 m2 with two bars, for men only, there is the largest crousing area of Budapest with dark rooms, glory holes, wet room, sling rooms. There is no entrance fee, but there is a compulsory consumption for 1.000 HUF. They give you a card and write what you drink on it, you have to pay when you leave. In case of lost your card, you have to pay 10.000 HUF. The crowd is younger, there are some military and leather and lycra guys also, but no dress code, almost everybody wear casual clothes. The busiest day is Saturday, when they organize thematic parties, like gangbang, sucker's night, military night, bear party, what nobody takes seriosly really no dress code. The only party is the bear party what people take seriously, and on those days significantly more bears. Hungarian bears are not muscle bears, but hairy fat bears. CoXx Club Smile Cafe & PubAddress: 7th district, Nagydiofa u. 17. Open: 22-05.Small club with 70 m2 dark room and cabins. Open: 21-04, happy hours: 21-23. Very close to CoXx Bar. Smile Cafe & Pub Glory Hole ClubAddress: 13th district, Radnóti M. u. 18. Open: Mon-Thur 12-24, Fri 12-04, Sat 16-04.Cruising bar with a lot of cabins with glory holes and stage. It is a mixed place, but always a lot of gay people and curious straights :)))) also. Glory Hole Club Budapest Gay Coffe shops & Gay RestaurantsAmstel River CafeAddress: 5th district, Parizsi u. 6. Open: 12-24.A real Dutch gay friendly cafe-restaurant, a popular meeting point down-town. Great food, warm friendly atmosphere. Mixed crowd and staff! Located just next to Váci main walking street. Nice terrace during the summer. Best place if you like to try the gulash in a gay restaurant. Le Cafe MAddress: 5th district, Nagysandor Jozsef u. 3. Open: weekdays 16-04, weekends 18-04.Nice small trendi bar, there is internet access. Le Cafe M Cafe EklektikaAddress: 6th ditrict, Nagymezo u. 30. Open: Mon-Fri 10-24, Sat-Sun 12-24.Lesbian and gay friendly cafe. Nice summer terrace on a lively street. Very close to AlterEgo and Revans Clubs, it is best place to go out before danceclubbing. Café Eklektika Cafe MylordAddress: 5th district, Belgrad rkp. 3.-4. Open: M-Sa 10-04, Sun 12-02.Gay friendly cafe on the river side by Szabadsag Bridge with summer terrace. Very nice wiew to Buda side (Gellért hill, Citadella, Statue of Liberty). Perfect to watch the fireworks at 20th August. Café Mylord Habrolo BisztroAddress: 5th district, Szép utca 1. Open: every day 11-05.Small bar close to Action bar and CoXx Bar. Nice retro design, taste of the 60's. Staff of the closed Angel Bar runs it. If you miss the old Angel Club feeling it is your place. Small, two level cosy bar. Habrolo Bisztro Funny CarrottAddress: 5th district, Szép utca 1. Open: every day 19-04.It is next to Habroló, just next door. Small bar close to Action bar and CoXx Bar. Long ago it was the Darling bar. Small, two level cosy place. Funny Carrott AlterEgo CafeAddress: 5th district, Erzsébet sq. 1. Open: every day 12-01.It is a new gay cafe in the scene. Close to Vörösmarty sq. and Chain bridge. I will check and write my impressions soon. AlterEgo Cafe Pizzeria Club '93Address: Vas utca 2. Open every day: 11:30-24.Italian kitchen, Hungarian temperament, mixed place. Design have not been changed since 1993. Nice summer terrace. Close to CoXx Bar. Club '93 Pizzeria Fenyőgyöngye RestaurantAddress: 2nd district, Szépvölgyi út 155. Open: every day 12-23.This unspeakable (do not even try, only Hungarians can) name restaurant offers traditional Hungarian food in a traditional design house on the Buda hills (Hűvösvölgy). The food is good, nice air and nice view, in the garden there are cute rabbits running. It is a gay friendly restaurant. Palatinus Lido photo gallery Omszki lakeIt is outside of Budapest. You can go there by local train HÉV, depart from Batthany tér (M2 red line) to Szentendre and get off at Budakalász. You can go there by tram 4 and 6, or M2 (red) metro line at Batthiányi tér stop.It is a smaller park, but less dangerous than Népliget. Of course less gays. Budapest Gay GymsMagnum Sauna GymAddress: 8th district, Csepreghy u. 2. Open: Mon-Thu 13-24, Fri 13-04, Weekend non stop from Sat 13 till Mon 01. Entrance: 2.700 HUF.Popular gaysauna and gym. Popular with all age groups. It is a gay sauna, but there are a gym also, but the weights and machines are not the newest constructions, and not big choice of weights. It is good if you want to train a little bit, but if you are a serious gym queen it will not satisfy you. Magnum Sauna Gym Budapest Gay Program MagazineCompanyCompany is the only one free Hungarian gay magazine. It looks like the same as the former Navégre magazine. You can find it in every gay bar, gay café or sauna. It is written in Hungarian, but for foreigners there is a very useful monthly gay agenda and a gay map.
